Relying upon the dedication of the clergy, staff and highly motivated
parish members of Transfiguration, this industrial site was transformed
into a magnificent parish church.
The prayer, sacrifice and hard work have produced
an elegant sanctuary with a hand carved altar, altar railing with
velvet covered kneeling cushions, credence table, pulpit and lectern,
baptismal font, beautifully refinished wooden pews and side altar,
all topped by a 20 foot vaulted ceiling. Other facilities include
sacristy, vesting room, classroom and nursery with viewing window,
as well as facilities for the audio/video recording of services.
The new church is adorned with a hand carved cross over the main
altar, a red oak tabernacle, a 16th century bishop's chair and
a 19th century auxiliary bishop's chair, four antique church chandeliers,
and a stained glass window titled, "Nativity," created
by artist Robert Foster, as well as icons and appropriate candlesticks
for various services.

The church includes many gifts in its liturgical appurtenances:
hanging sanctuary lamp, relic of St. Mary of Magdalene, monstrance,
and various furniture items. The generous financial support of
its members and friends have helped to finance the materials and
equipment to complete this project. Necessary altar linens, vestments
for clergy, servers and choir are well stocked, and prayer books,
hymnals and psalter for clergy, choir and pews are continually
being published by the publishing arm of the parish.
